FAQ's/ Candle Burning Tips / Care & Use

Starting Line Up Candle Preview

Do I need to trim the wooden wick?

Wooden wicks naturally are self trimming. If you are having trouble relighting your candle light from the base (unburnt part) of the wick. If your wick still will not light use your fingers and break off the burnt part which should be 1/4 inch.

How to extinguish your candle?

Blow out your candle do not extinguish with the lid. Remember to place the lid on your extinguished candle to prevent dust from entering the candle.

Spilled wax

Soy wax is easy to clean, all you need to clean a spill or to clean your vessel is warm soap and water.

Cautions

  1. Never leave candle burning unattended.
  2. Burn on a heat-resistant surface.
  3. Keep away from drafts, children, pets, fabric, and or anything flammable.
  4. Always burn in sight.
  5. Never leave candle burning unattended.
  6. Burn for no less than 1 hour & no more than 4 hours maximum.
  7. Do not touch metal tin while candle is burning, or still warm.
  8. Once the candle has reached about 1/2 inch of wax remaining, stop burning it. Burning beyond this point is a fire hazard.

Tips

  1. Soy candles burn slower then other candles and are temperature sensitive. Your burn rate and candle characteristics might be different depending upon the temperature of the room you burn it in.
  2. Burn candles in a well ventilate, non-drafty room. A draft might blow out the candle prematurely or keep it from staying lit.
  3. If you burn the candle for a while and the flame is very low, you may need to remove the extra burnt wood at the top of the wick.
  4. Wooden wicks light slower than cotton wicks. Hold your lighter (long tip lighter) close to the wick for 20 or more seconds to fully light the wick.
  5. The first time you light your candle, allow the melted wax pool to reach the edge of the container. For small candles (our travel tins) it may take an hour. For our larger candles it may take 2+ hours.
  6. True characteristics of soy candles with out any additives are air pockets. If your candle forms air pockets on the surface after you burn, this is perfectly normal. We do not add any additional chemicals to enhance fragrance throw and/ or aesthetic looks.
